Questo è un bulletin che ha mandato questa mattina Kelly in bacheca [e cel' ha segnalato sullo space]. Si tratta di un' intervista fatta a Victor dove gli chiedono il perchè Alex e Grace non fanno più parte della band. Purtroppo ho poco tempo ultimamente e non posso tradurvela ora [chi volesse farsi avanti per farlo, mi farebbe un favore]...cmq vi dico solo che Victor dice che Grace nella band non faceva un gran che, più che altro lavorava su grafica e stile della band, dice in'oltre che voleva prendersi i meriti di canzoni e via dicendo nonostante, secondo Victor, lui non contribuiva quasi mai. A quanto ho capito Grace non sapeva nemmeno suonare la tastiera prima di entrare nella band [ma vero?? boh].
Cmq questa intervista come un'altra che gia avevo postato fa si che Grace passi per il povero idiota che stava li e non faceva na mazza. Io lo trovo una persona splendida, e pensar che sia così stronzo non ci riesco...cmq io li mica c'ero quindi non sto ne da una parte ne dall'altra, neutrale come sempre...

Soggetto: Why did u say such things about Grace Khold, dear Victor?

Corpo: This is a part from an interview Victor Love gave.


Many changes have been happened in the band. First Grace left the band last year.

And has Alex left the band as well?Could you tell me why these changes have happened? Why have the guys left the band?

Victor: Alex left the band just some weeks before the Orkus tour but it has been better in the end cause he’s doing now the music he really likes to do with his new band. It was clear to all of us that Alex was not feeling in the right place but after he left we’ve found a new live dimension that is working very well. Actually the Orkus tour has been the best ever and also the shows that followed has been incredible. We shared some wonderful experiences in the last year and with the arrival of Ash Rexy we have finally found a really solid line up for live shows. I also really love to be back playing guitars and vocals on stage. After all both us and Alex are doing what we really want and this is the most important thing. What about Grace there is more to say as when he left he started this sad disinformation campaign on the net to damage this band. We tried to avoid further discussions and close this topic but I think after 1 year and an half it’s time to clear up some of the things that confused our fans. When we founded this band all was cool, we were friends and everything was different. Grace was not in the band cause of musical skills or talent but rather for his skills as graphic designer. By the times he never touched a keybaord before and we decided all together it would have been easier for him to reach a good skill level at keybords with some practice and leave him find his role in live shows and as band member after the release of our debut. He has never composed or programmed any synth line, beat or drum pattern tough as I was actually taking care of the whole electronic parts for obvious reasons. He mostly contributed during the arrangement of quite finished songs but he had a very strange attitude cause of his complete lack of past experiences as composer. He was figuring out every time the most weird ways to claim he wrote something and after a while it sounded like if he just wanted to get his name on credits at any cost and build up some kind of “talented musician” and “mastermind” image of himself for the public and fans. This wrong attitude has been the reason why I decided at a certain point to not write songs in his presence anymore cause I understood there was no other way to avoid endless discussions. He wanted to get involved more but actually me and the other guys never understood how he wanted this to happen till he left. Since the start I told him (as well as the others in the band) to bring something from his own and work together on it but this never happened and we never listened to anything out of his hands. In order to protect the band and sacrifices we were doing and to keep things rolling I always tried to find compromises with him, satisfying his requests, giving him credits and space also in public even when I believed it was not fair. But in the end these compromises were not enough and a lot of personal issues started to slow down the band activities and create very demotivating situations that led in the end to his depearture from the band. So Grace left cause he wanted to get at any cost a central role in the band composition, role that was impossible for him to achieve cause of consistent practical and personal reasons. The good part of this story is that we are feeling damn great right now and we still got the same passion of motivation to push this band to the next step. Happenings like these can be difficult for a band but on the long run it has been an important chapter for all of us to grow and work in the future in a more positive way.



Do you think that the guys left the Dope Stars has any influence on the style of the band in the future? Is it possible that the sound of the band will be changed? Or is it a positive influence in the sense that the band has more refrection from the changes? How have the rules changed in writing songs, and lyrics( if they have changed).



Victor: The rules in writing songs never changed. Since the start I’ve always been the internal producer and I took care of composition of all the songs in this band since the 1st demo ep, Neuromance, Make A Star EP and Gigahearts and all remixes. I usually tend to write songs and get them recorded in a very fast way so most of the times I ended to deliver a basic arrangement of each song including already the heart of the song itself, melody, lyrics, beats, synthesizers, guitars, etc.. Everyone in the band had the opportunity to do the same but usually also the other guys (except Grace) wanted me to work on demos and use them as starting point, working together on the final arrangement and try to improve songs till the final shape and official recordings in studio. Of course there will be changes in the style but I can honestly say these will not be influenced by Grace’s depearture cause his contribute has never been a focal point in the music of DSI. Grace pointed also in his statement the fact I’m some kind of egomaniac that does not like to work like a team. What he will never understand is that I simply didn’t wanted to work with HIM anymore considering his behaviour and the fact he was never able to produce something concrete, something recorded, performed or either programmed. Most of the times his contribute was about confused and cloudy advices on songs with an already solid melody, beat, structure and arrangement or was about changing parts of already finished lyrics. Besides he never helped in the band for any other administrative or practical activity. He was just waiting at home to enjoy the good things coming out of this band with no stress and constant criticism toward everything, doing just the strict necessary with his design work, taking all the time he desired and with no respect for deadlines. I have been in lots of bands before and after DSI and I can tell you I’ve been always very open to work with other people on composition. It is the best way to grow as a composer indeed and experience new styles. I also work as producer and engineer with other bands and when possible I like to put something of my own or give advices on arrangements during the production to make songs sound better. I enjoy to work with other real musicians and composers and I like to experience music in every way. If this didn’t happened with Grace there is a valid reason.



I just wanted to ask: If u were considering Grace as such a "useless" person why did u keep him in the band all those years ? I see one thing..........Grace did not organize any stupid campaign to damage DSI image.........On the contrary I see YOU are trying to damage his image. Why? Grace didn't say too much about it............why did u do that?
